Hardwiring Your Devices

Remember these? Gone be the days when there were those pesky wires all coiling about. But with all the health problems with wifi and blue tooth, it's a good thing they are still around. I remember scavenging the storage closets at the school where I worked for these nice blue, safe cords before they were thrown out. I used them to wire up chrome books for my students when I was teaching and trying to make a safe environment for the students and myself. If you are still on the fence about whether these devices are safer or not, I would reference you to the 2018 NTP Study on rats that was a multi-decade study and showed "clear evidence" of cancers and DNA breakage in rats from just 2-3g radiation. Here is an article about it when it first came out.


You can wire up your own home and make a safe and healthful environment for you and your family. If the device has a usb port, you can wire up about anything: printers, laptops, TVs, security cameras, tablets, cell phones. If it doesn't have a usb port and the blue tooth or wifi signal does not turn off you will need to ditch the device for your health. Wireless mouses do not have wired capabilities. The same with air pods, fitbits, and watches. These blue tooth devices emit some of the more spiky, harsh microwave signals.


The Basics

There are two things to remember when hardwiring your devices. One, turn off the wifi on the router that is signaling to the devices, and two turn off the radios inside the devices that are calling out to the router. This calling out is a beacon signal that the device sends out periodically to keep in touch with the router. You can find the radios in your settings on your devices. You need a meter to verify that you have turned off all the radios and that they are actually off. Here is a good meter called the Accousticom2. It is even better to switch out a wireless router with a non wireless modem and then use a non wireless router to send ethernet cords to any switches you might have in the rooms that you want internet connection to.


You only need one router in the house, and then wire up switches where you have multilple devices in the room. Scotties tech has a nice video on You Tube giving a visualization of what that might look like here.


Adaptors


You will need adaptors that go into the usb ports in the device. It should have an ethernet end to plug into your ethernetted system. Here is one for an Apple computer. This is a Thunderbolt to ethernet adaptor. You need to use Apple adaptors for Apple products only. Just find out what type of usb port you have and find an adaptor to fit into your device that also has the ethernet port on the end.

Switches

To get to the none wireless router with multiple devices, you will need a switch you plug all your devices to. That will feed into your ethernet router via an ethernet cord out the back. The one below is a big fancy industrial switch, but you get the idea. You might only need one with four ports


Ethernet Cords

Unless your house is wired with ethernet ports (there are technicians who will do this for you if you don't have it, see below), you will need to send out cords from the non wireless router to all the rooms that have devices in the house. They come in 100 foot lengths as well as 4 foot lengths.


IT Tech Service

If you have the money and would like a technician to do all this for you, you can hire a local IT tech. There is a national service called A Plus Mobile Techs I talked with JT@aplusmobiletechs.com, and he gave me a price of $230 for the initial site survey to see what needs to be done, and then costs for parts and service would be estimated from there.


Security Systems

For sophisticated security systems, you will need to contact the company that services it and ask them to install hardwired cameras. There may already be ethernet cabling in the house that connects to the router, but most of the cameras are wifi, and you will need to check with your meter. If the cameras are radiating, they will have to be replaced by ones that do not radiate, and always check with a meter. With ADT, they can hardwire the monitor to the telephone system, but the sensors will radiate periodically. You will have to decide what you can live with.


When you hardwire your home, you are making your home more secure against hackers, and you are doing your body a favor, and it will thank you with a good night's sleep and feelings of vitalness very few people are able to access now days.
